WEDDING BELLS.
COKER-HARDINGE.
The marriage of Leonard Thomas only son of the late Mr. L. W. Coker and Mrs. S. Coker, of Mackay, formerly of Rockhampton, to Laura, eldest daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hardinge, Cathedral-street, Rockhampton, was celebrated at the Campbell-street Methodist Church on August 28th, at 9.30 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Bibby officiated.
The church had been prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride in tonings of pink, lemon and white, with a large wedding bell suspended over the bridal couple. As the bride, entered the church, the hymn, "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden." was sung, and Miss Lois Bibby presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of ivory celanese, taffeta, made with peaked
light fitting bodice prettily tucked, and long mitten sleeves, the skirt having a flared panel on either side, falling in an uneven hem. Her tulle train and veil, made in cap fashion, was finished with a silver bandeau and orange blos- som and was kindly lent by Mrs. L. Roberts.
Misses Florence Hardinge (chief), Alice Hardinge and Annie Weiss (cousin of the bride), were in attendance as bridesmaids. Miss Florence Hardinge chose a salmon pink georgette frock made with a pretty tucked bodice and long sleeves, the skirt being comprised of folds falling in peaks at the sides.
She wore a large white flop crinoline hat trimmed with flowers and velvet streamers in salmon tonings, and carried a bouquet of sweet peas enveiled in tulle. The two little bridesmaids, Alice Hardinge and Annie Weiss, were frocked in primrose taffeta, made with tight bodices and puffed sleeves and full-frilled skirts. Both wore crinoline bonnet-shaped hats trimmed with primrose and pink flowers and lemon velvet streamers, and carried silver crooks tied with large silver bows and trimmed with pink forget-me-nots in heart shape designs. Mr. Norman Ferguson was best man.
Mrs. Hardinge, (mother of the bride) wore a navy crepe-de-Chine frock relieved with shell pink, and a rose beige silk hemp straw hat to tone. Mrs. Coker (mother of the bridegroom) was attired in black satin beaute, with an overdress of Chantilly lace falling in an uneven hem, and she wore a black hat to match.
The wedding breakfast was held at Kirby's Cafe, where the decorations were in tonings of pink, blue and lemon, and a large, three-tiered wedding cake, the gift of the bridesmaid, Miss F. Hardinge, adorned the table.
On leaving for Brisbane and Sydney, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride's travelling frock was of olive green celanese crepe-de-Chine made with a hip yoke and flared skirt, the bodice showing a scarf collar, and ornamented with tiny gold buttons. Her navy silk straw hat was trimmed with flowers and autumn-tinted leaves and green ribbon velvet, and she carried a navy crepe-de-Chine coat.
