    Notes from John Stanhope: Agnes Thomson was born at Mill of Mathers on 25 February and baptized 7 March 1813 at Saint Cyrus, Kincardineshire . She was the second child of James Thomson, a miller, and Jean Smith. This couple were married at Fordoun 22 December 1810. In 1881 Agnes was living alone as an "annuitant" at Margaret Place, Old Machar, Aberdeen . She died 3 January 1905 at East Peterculter/Woodbank (her father-in-law Alexander's tombstone6, grave 93 p.20, says "Woodend Cottage Cults).

    Notes from John Stanhope: James Thomson was born 30 April 1780 and baptized the same day at Stracathro, Forfarshire, the son of William Thomson and Kathrine (Catharine, Katharine) Laurence (Lawrence), who were married at Fordoun on 31 July 1779. In 1841-3 he and his wife were residing at Montquick (Mill of Monquich, in Maryculter, and near Balnagubs), where he was a miller, paying rent of £10 yearly to George Silver (Inventory of the personal estate of George Silver esquire 13 November 1845.). They were witnesses to the baptisms of James Thomson's grandsons James and Alexander Silver. James Thomson was witness to baptism of grandson David Silver. <br />
