  Ellen the daughter of Alfred Boddginton & Mary Adams [nee McKenzie] who were both immigrants on the William Stewart which arrived in Port Philip Colony in 1848 - they were married at St James' Church, Melbourne the same year. Alfred was a whitesmith who had been born in Souldern, Oxfordshire in 1817. Mary was born in Wigtown, Scotland in 1820 - she died in Footscray in 1886 - Mary had migrated with her widowed mother, Isabella [nee Adams] d.1863, and sister Helen Mary - who later married Thomas Ingram in 1854 when she was 17yo. Ellen was the second child, and eldest girl of 10 children.<hr>
