At Stonehaven the thirteenth day of November in the year One thousand eight hundred and forty. In presence of Hugh Fullerton Esquire Commissary

Commissary Depute of the Commissariat of Kincardineshire Compeared John Falconer Writer in Stonehaven as procurator and gave in the Inventory and oath there on underwritten desiring that the same might along with a Disposition and Deed of Settlement and Codicil thereto subjoined, holograph Letter of date the first day of September and three Codicils written on paper apart, the first Codicil being date the twenty first day of September and each of the other two the twenty third day of September all in the year Eighteen hundred and Forty and all executed by the Defunct be inserted and registered in the Commissary Court Books of the Commissariat of said Shire, which desire the said Commissary, finding to be reasonable he ordained the same to be done accordingly and of which Inventory the principal being written on paper denoting a Stamp duty of Eighty Pounds Sterling the tenor follows viz, Inventory of the Personal Estate and effects of the deceased

Disposition and Deed of Settlement and Codicil subjoined the principal being written on paper denoting a Stamp duty of One pound fifteen shillings Sterling the tenor follow viz: I George Silver of Netherley having resolved to settle my affairs so as to prevent all disputes after my death do therefore hereby Give, Grant, Assign, Dispone and convey to and in favour of George Silver, my Eldest son and his Heirs and assignees whomsoever heritably and irredeemably all and sundry Lands and Heritages goods and gear, debts and sums of money and in general the whole means, Estate and Effects Heritable and moveable real and personal of whatever denomination or wherever situated at present belonging and addebted or what shall belong and be addebted to me at the time of my decease with the whole grounds, Vouchers and instructions thereof and Writs and evidents of and concerning my said Estate and effects above conveyed with all that has followed or may be competent to follow thereon, And I do hereby bind and .

To my son James Silver the sum of Five hundred pounds sterling; to my son Alexander Silver the sum of one thousand pounds sterling; to my son John Silver the sum of one thousand pounds sterling all at the first twentieth day of June or twentieth day of December twelve months after my death with interest at the rate of four per cent per annum from the first twentieth of June or twentieth of December after my death till paid; declaring that if any of my younger children above named shall die before me their said provision or provisions shall lapse and belong to my said....

At Stonehaven the thirteenth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty, In Presence of Hugh Fullerton Esquire Commissary Depute of the Commissariat of Kincardineshire Compeared John Falconer Writer in Stonehaven as procurator and gave in the Holograph Letter underwritten desiring that the same might along with a Disposition and Deed of Settlement and Codicil written on paper apart, the first of which bears date the twenty first day of September and each of the other two the twenty third day of September all in the year eighteen hundred and forty and all executed by the Defunct and an Inventory of his Personal Estate be inserted and registered in the Commissary Court Books of the Commissariat of said Shire; which desire the said Commissary Depute finding to be reasonable he ordained the same to be done accordingly and....

I also leave to my overseer Alexander Smith twelve pounds sterling - to my housekeeper Margaret Bow for her great attention to me during my severe illness, twelve pounds sterling - to my butler Thomas Munro ten pounds sterling and my body clothes - to my wright James Duthie six pounds sterling - and to each of my servants male and female, both at Netherley and Muchalls who may be in my service at the time of my death a gratuity of five pounds sterling - also to my gardeners and day labourers who may be in my service at the time of my death, five pounds sterling each which sums are to be paid to them six months after my death, I would recommend that the five pounds thus left to the boy Edward Cowie should be applied for the....
