      Death certificate states Jane Elizabeth Stonehewer died 10 Henry Street, Stepney on 31 July 1866 age 60. Wife of John Stonehewer, Designer. Informant William J. T. Coker who was present at death and lived at 9 High Street, Stepney. Death is registered on the 4 August. She is recored as dying

      In 1855 Jane and John Stonehewer transferred use of the property to Alpheus Carpenter Billings for an annual rent, of 25 pounds. Following discussions the parties agreed to upgrade the property to conform to current national and local laws. By adding pavement, installing privvies, repairing structures and cleaning up the property. For a revised annual rent of 29 pounds 10 shilling for a 40-year period . But one year later a licence document was issued in the name of Henry Vane who assumed usage.<hr>
